A celebrated French trumpet player brings his passion for connection, artistry, and cultural dialogue to the French American Cultural Days in San Francisco.
Michel Jacquot: A Nomadic Trumpet Voice for FACD 2026
Culture Without Border is delighted to introduce Michel Jacquot, a French trumpet player whose artistry combines virtuosity, sensitivity and a profound belief in the power of music to build bridges between cultures.
In March 2026, he will be one of the featured artists of the French American Cultural Days (FACD) in San Francisco, presenting a bold new project: Récitals Nomades.
Discover the Artist
Born in Burgundy, Michel Jacquot challenges the usual perception of the trumpet as a purely ceremonial or heroic instrument. For him, the trumpet is a voice capable of intimacy, tenderness, and deep emotion. His performances tell stories and reveal the full expressive range of the instrument.
Michel’s path reflects both artistic excellence and a strong commitment to teaching. He has collaborated with ensembles as varied as the Paris Brass Band, Proxima Centauri (contemporary music), and the French Air Force Band. Between 2023 and 2025, he held the position of Principal Trumpet at the Samsun State Opera in Türkiye and performed as a guest with the Istanbul State Opera. Since 2025, he has been a Bach Trumpets Artist Ambassador and will soon begin teaching as professor of trumpet and brass coordinator at the Conservatory of Dole.
FACD 2026: A French-American Celebration
The French American Cultural Days are a cornerstone of our mission at Culture Without Border: creating encounters between artists, communities and traditions across the Atlantic.
After the success of FACD 2025, the 2026 edition will welcome Michel Jacquot with his Récitals Nomades, a project designed to resonate with both local audiences and international partners.
The Récitals Nomades Project
Récitals Nomades is Michel’s answer to a guiding question:
how can music create dialogue between cultures?
The project envisions intertwining French and American repertoires, from Gaubert and Saint-Saëns to Copland and Ewazen, through a variety of recitals: solo performances, trumpet and piano collaborations, and concerts with local ensembles. Beyond concert halls, these performances could also take place in libraries, schools, or even outdoor spaces, making classical music accessible to new audiences.
If we reach our funding goals, the program will also feature masterclasses for young musicians and a bilingual lecture-performance retracing the history of the classical trumpet, opening the door for all communities to experience this instrument in an innovative and engaging way.
And for that, we need you!
A Shared Mission
Michel’s vision perfectly reflects the spirit of Culture Without Border: inclusive, innovative, and rooted in dialogue. His curiosity for contemporary creation, his desire to perform in unexpected venues, and his belief in music as a universal language make him an ideal ambassador for our values.
