Art Auction - “Hermione” Painting by Sebastien Pridmore

On May 4th, 2025, Culture Without Borders hosted a special fundraising event at the Berkeley Yacht Club in support of the iconic French vessel, the Hermione.

The evening featured a captivating auction of a painting by Sebastien Pridmore, depicting the legendary ship that once sailed across the Atlantic. Prior to the auction, guests were invited to attend a conference on the rich history of the Hermione, from its historic voyage to its present state of preservation. A former crew member shared firsthand stories of sailing aboard the replica ship from Rochefort to New York, offering a poignant glimpse into the vessel’s enduring legacy.

All proceeds from the auction will go towards the ongoing restoration of the Hermione, ensuring that it continues to inspire future generations as a symbol of cultural heritage and international exchange.
