Community spotlight

Michel Jacquot is a French classical trumpet soloist with a rich and diverse career. Originally from Burgundy, he trained at some of the most prestigious conservatories in France and holds a National Diploma in Music Performance, a Degree in Musicology, and a State Diploma in Trumpet Teaching.

Known for his versatility and expressive playing, Michel has performed with various ensembles, including the Paris Brass Band, Sinfonia Pop Orchestra, and the French Air Force Orchestra in Bordeaux. His repertoire spans from opera and symphonic music to chamber music, jazz, and brass band traditions.

Michel is currently the principal trumpet at the National Opera of Samsun, and regularly collaborates with the National Opera of Istanbul and La Chambre Symphonique. As both a performer and educator, he is committed to sharing his passion for music across borders.

Sebastien Pridmore is a French-Swiss artist based in California who specializes in painting with natural pigments. His work deeply explores the connections between history, nature, and cultural heritage. 

Notably, his painting L’Hermione pays tribute to the iconic French frigate symbolizing freedom and French-American friendship. This artwork was featured on the poetry contest flyer and will be sold by the French Consulate in San Francisco to support the frigate’s restoration. 

Sebastien’s art reflects his commitment to preserving and celebrating cultural stories through a unique, natural medium.
